In Jericho Point Evan Delaney tells a celebrity wannabe that she’s on an “Extreme Reality” show called Mistaken Identity. Evan’s actually the victim of identity theft, and has several busted teeth because of it, but the wannabe laps up the idea of the show. When I wrote the scene I figured that real life would outstrip my fiction sooner or later, but not with this garish mix of desperation and cruelty; in the upcoming CBS reality show Armed & Famous, B-list celebrities join the police to make real arrests. Pity wanted man Terence Walker of Muncie, Indiana, who
had the misfortune of being spotted by Muncie police as he left a gas station last week. Even worse, three of the arresting officers — women’s world wrestling champion Trish Stratus, former CHiPS star Erik Estrada and Jason Wee-Man Acuna — were celebrities, who had received police training and joined the law-enforcement team for the TV reality show.
And that’s not the scariest part.
Stratus, Estrada and Acuna, along with La Toya Jackson and Jack Osbourne, had received standard reserve officer training, including the use of firearms.
Who’s the celebrity you’d least like to have point a loaded handgun at you? On camera?
UPDATE: Ken makes a particularly astute observation in the comments.

I’m not sure which makes me more anxious: neophyte celebrity cops with guns or veteran cops with guns on camera for the first time.

Mediocre actors with guns scare me s**tless, doubly so if their aim is of the same calibre as their acting.
