Kill Chain: out in paperback

May 29, 2007 · 5 Comments

Kill Chain has just come out in paperback, and I’m particularly happy about two things. First, the changes to my text, which an overeager proofreader had inserted into the hardback galley proofs at the last minute (and which I worried about here), have now been fixed. Thank you, Hodder & Stoughton.

kc.jpgSecond, it’s gotten a string of pleasing reviews, including this one in the Sunday Express:

“The feisty Evan Delaney makes a welcome return in Kill Chain, Meg Gardiner’s fourth thriller. This time it’s Evan’s own father who disappears, as she looks for clues Evan hits trouble. She is attacked, her assailant ends up dead and transpires to be a federal agent – Evan has no choice but to take her search for her father on the run. As ever, the plot is pacy and tight.”

Fifth thriller, but I’m not complaining.

Weird. Both Amazon.ca and Indigo.ca say the mass market pb won’t be available until Nov 1, 2007.

Weird is not the word, Susan..I have been bombarding my local bookstore in a prominent part of SE London to supply Megs books, and it seems that gold dust is easier to come by..Unfortunately, I have had to resort to a well-known internet auction site to get my Delaney fix (lay off the bids for “Mission Canyon” please!), but I can only hope that bookstores and the general public take heed of the attention directed to Megs talents and make her work more accessible.

I should add, however, for those still looking, that the Trade Paperback has been available at Amazon.ca and Indigo.ca since last November, which is when I bought it.

Hi Meg. I’ll be buying the hardback soon (looks better on the bookshelves), so it’ll be fun trying to spot the proofreader changes. Lets hope the good reviews result in increased sales.

UK readers: Amazon.co.uk, Waterstones.com, and the other booksellers listed on the “Where to find my books” page should point you to economical and available copies.

Canadians: what can I say? Apparently the paperbacks are coming to you via another route, and the schedule is different. But you can find hardbacks and all the other paperbacks at all fine Canadian bookstores.
