U.S. tour dates

May 2, 2008 · 11 Comments

On the Events page, I’ve posted some confirmed dates for my U.S. tour.

Between June 11 and June 29 I’ll be doing readings and signings in Houston (at the terrific, and terrifically supportive, bookstore Murder by the Book), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara (Yeah! Chaucer’s! And all of you — everybody I’m related to or went to school with or sat in traffic with on State Street — are going to be there. Yes, you are!), Phoenix, New York, Dayton, and Pittsburgh.

I’ll update the listings as I know more. I wish I could stop everywhere and sign every copy of The Dirty Secrets Club, but it’s a big country. Thanks to Dutton’s huge support, I’m hitting as many places as I possibly can.

    O Canada….

Yup, here’s Patti and I waving madly and saying, “Yoohoo! Up here, Meg!”

  • susan // May 2, 2008 at 2:48 pm

Oooops. Here ARE Patti and I….

You know that the Grammar Geeks Unit world HQ in Canada is at the top of the list of places I dearly want to visit. Whether I get there in June is doubtful. But I will get there!

    Whether I’LL get there.

I was going to tell Susan (Ms. Is/Are) to drop and give me fifty. But now I have to tell myself as well.

Excellent. Just be wary of December through March.

At the risk of being tedious, here’s another bid/beg for you to come somewhere around Chicago. I would be there with bells on (in other words, just one more dingaling… ;)

Just adding another vote for Chicago… And Meg: if you timed it just right, you could see the Cubs host the White Sox at Wrigley Field on June 20th, 21st or 22nd. Just think: beer, bleacher seats and crazed baseball fans. What else do you need?

Guys, I wish. I love Chicago. My mom went to college there, and I lived for a summer near DePaul while I worked in the pillar of salt down on Navy Pier. Wrigley Field is the best park in the NL. And crazed fans, dingalings, and oh, my, a deep dish pepperoni from Pizza Uno, not to mention blues bars and Ravinia and Lincoln Park and the lake and… I wish. Unfortunately, those dates conflict with a high school graduation. For one of my offspring. But believe me, Chicago’s high on my list of places I’d love to visit, anytime.

Ok, Meg. How about a raincheck until the tour for the next book?

We’ll keep the beer cold and the pizza hot. We’ll even save you a seat in the bleachers.

  • Dan // May 3, 2008 at 10:39 pm

I have to add: I’ll be the only one in the bleachers with a book. If it’s one of yours, it will be infinitely more exciting than the game.

2008 marks 100 years since the Cubs won a World Series. Ugh.
