Chelsea Football Club trains in my town. So, though I’m not much of a soccer fan, last night I watched the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester United. It was a great game. John Terry, Chelsea’s captain (and England’s), played a gutty and sometimes heroic game. But it came down to penalty kicks, and in a Moscow downpour, Terry slipped on the sodden grass and missed his shot. Manchester United went on to win, 6-5. Afterward, Terry looked griefstricken.
So this is for everybody in town. If you see John Terry — at the grocery store, or Starbucks, or Blockbuster — tell him he’s still the man.

What about the little matter of Terry spitting at Tevez during the Drogba sending off incident?
I’m glad that the lasting image of that final will be Terry crying tears of self-pity.

Indeed - he should be comforted. He is a great player. However - it looks to me that he slipped AFTER the shot

Would this be the same John Terry who was fined £60 for leaving his Bentley in a disabled parking bay while he and his family went for a pizza, who mocked American tourists in a hotel bar about the 9/11 attacks days after the event and who has the morals of an alleycat as he has repeatedly cheated on his wife.
By the way, anyone wishing to console poor wee John could do worse than check out the Coral’s betting shop in Cobham where he has been seen ‘dropping’ over £10,000.00 in a single day and £40,000.00 in a week on dog/horse racing.
Karma is wonderful, isnt it?

Gracious. Remind me never to mention English football again.
