Guest-blogging for Jeff VanderMeer this week, I managed to promise that I’d post a photo of myself wearing… well, here’s what I just wrote over at Ecstatic Days:
Never promise what you can’t deliver.
I said I’d post a photo of me in Star Trek costume. And I’m looking for the picture.
But it may take a while longer, because I think the photo is buried somewhere in this pile of stuff. Let’s just hope it’s not under any overdue bills, or a message from the fire department that my husband is trapped down a well. The pile has grown out of control while I worked on the first draft of my new novel.
Which, finally, I’ve finished.

Out of curiousity… How long did it take you to write that first draft?
I’m working on my first novel. I scribble two to four pages of rough (”it sucks but I don’t care”) draft during my lunch break at my full time job, with a chapter of 15 pages done every week. This seems like a good pace to me even though it may take six months get the rough draft done. Fortunately, I’m a faster writer/editor once I know what the story is.

What a tease you are! Another Jo Beckett in the pipeline, AND a photo of you in Trekker costume! I assume Federation? Or is it Klingon? Oh, I’ve got it, it has to be Seven of Nine!:)
