Revealed: the “most unfortunate” names

What do you call some of the most unlucky people in Britain?

Justin Case, Barb Dwyer and Stan Still.

It sounds like a bad joke, but a study has revealed that there really are unfortunate people with those names in the UK.

Joining them on the list are Terry Bull, Paige Turner, Mary Christmas and Anna Sasin.

Personally, I think Anna Sasin would make an awesome pen name for a thriller writer.

  1. This is why my wife and I did not name either of our sons Peter Abbott.

  2. Okay, it took me a bit to understand what was wrong with Peter Abbott. I had to keep saying it over and over before it finally clicked. doh!

I also like Anna Sasin. That has style.

  3. In my area, one of the main researchers into violent behaviour is called Anna Salter. Always gets a giggle at conferences.

  4. Then there are the Down kids, Neil, Ben and Ida.

  5. I heard of a guy, Forrest Bush, who named his daughter Rose!
Of course, I’ve got no room to talk, my name is made up.
