Cute, or sinister?
The Huffington Post caption reads: “Think baby animals are cute? Well it doesn’t get much cuter than a baby monkey, Miwa, riding a baby boar, Uribo.”
But Jason writes: “Riding into the Monkey War?”
I am thrilled that my plan — to turn you all into sick, twisted people who see mayhem and the possibility of disaster in the most innocent of scenes — is proceeding so well.

And the boar’s name is “Ahnuld.”
hahaha Patti!
That boar reminds me of a Night Gallery? episode where this really ugly, obnoxious older man loves this beautiful girl. They end up at dinner together where ugly words are exchanged. He gives her this horrible rat thing broach that he pins on her coat and she ends up walking home on dark, deserted streets. As the camera keeps cutting to her walking, the broach is growing larger and larger and ends up killing her. That episode scared me beyond words.
The broach looked just like that boar. I suggest the monkey find another ride.
I remember that one, Dana Jean! Lots of those old Night Gallery’s scared the bejesus outa me!
I know! And even as a kid, I could see the creative brilliance of many of the episodes. Some of them were gems.
I have this vision of hundreds of shrieking monkeys lining a ridge preparing to ride their boars into battle as Meg triumphantly yells, “Eeyahhh!”
Makes Braveheart seem like kind of a pansy, doesn’t it?
Meg and Monkeys and Boars, oh my!
Plot? I thought being “sick and twisted” was a prerequisite to being a fan. I’ve always thought anything that looked innocent was just trying to lure me into a deluded sense of security. :>)
The monkeypocalypse is even closer than you all think – wait till you see the video and hear their theme tune.
What floors me it the time and resources required to write, rehearse, and record the theme song for this video. Yet, after viewing it, the song that I can’t get out of my head is Homer Simpson singing, “Spider Pig, Spider Pig, Does whatever a Spider Pig does…” I’m blaming you, Mr. Patterson!
Sick, twisted person who sees mayhem and the possibility of disaster in the most innocent of scenes? Moi? Maybe my alter ego in The Memory Collector, but I think I’m worse than that.
