I’ve posted plenty of photos on the blog this year — from San Francisco, and the ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards, and of Barney the Chihuahua, star of Contest 2010.
Here are a few more. First, here’s the woman behind Barney — rescuer, mistress of the realm, and my sister-in-law, known here in the comments by her blog handles mom2bnsb, sleeplessnsb, and lesliensb:
And here’s another dog beloved around these parts, Duke — this is the last photo we got of him, and he’s keeping me company while I blog:
And, finally — and on request — here’s a photo of me and the Husband* on the red carpet at the ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards.
*Or is it? Because the Husband is a deep cover operative for an agency that cannot be named, he may in fact be wearing a Mission-Impossible-style mask (and tux), disguising him from the paparazzi and allowing him to infiltrate the network of the hunted assassin, “The Gnome.” I’ll leave you to judge. You can compare the man in the photo above with this shot of the Husband in his native garb, as seen in “China Lake Style” and this authenticated photo:
Such a life I lead.

Great pictures, Meg! Thanks for posting them.
Finally! A picture of The Husband/Jedi.
Happy New Year to my fellow commenters and the entire Gardiner Clan! 2011 is going to be a great year. I feel it in my bones.
The fashion in that last photo is totally back in vogue. And how glamorous do you look at the awards, Meg?!
I second Dan’s NY wishes to all. 2011 will indeed be awesome. If not at least we’re guaranteed some good reading.
Oh wow, little miss alias chihuahua saver, I’m going to go by a bunch of different names from now on too. Very nice photo.
Great pics of duke and you and the husband too. He sort of looks like Greg Allman in that hair photo. Thanks for sharing.
And, just as a side note, I am currently listening to The Liar’s Lullaby on audiobook to see if the narrator said my name right. She did! hahaha. I am pathetic. Happy New Year!
Dana Jean, you are the coolest!!
What a swell cozy lookin’ pupperoni Duke is.
I’m thinkin’ he wants to get back online…or that pupolicious, probably makes him even cozier lookin’, chair.
Dana Jean, if your pathetic, then I’m PatTheTic…get it, pathetic, PatThe…..
Yeah yeah, but ya gotta admit, that was pretty patthetic…yyyep yep yep, I’ll just be seein’ myself out.
pat, pat, pat — haoheohaoheoa!
Great 2010 photos, Meg.
Aw, and wasn’t he cute with that beautiful, golden coat. Duke too!
Sort of Fabioesque, wasn’t it. Duke too.
Thanks for the photos, Meg. You and The Husband on the red carpet look like you meant it. And Duke was a handsome devil, just oozing Labness.
Happy much belated Christmas (Mum’s modem croaked Christmas Eve and the neighbours whose wireless I was “borrowing” turned it off for a couple of days).
Cuts out paper from …well OK, a newspaper (or 2, oh yes, I’m not that easy to catch) It spells out…The gnome will never be caught! Prepare yourselves for another year of bafflement.
Oh yes.
Oh, Meg, I hadn’t realised that you’d lost a big beautiful boy so recently. Duke looks like a wonderful buddy for certain. Sincere condolences to you and your family… Labs truly are such terrific friends. (I have a Golden X male and a Chocolate puppy girl.)
Thank you for the look-back…. and a big “Happy New Year” to everybody!
Crap… I was supposed to post that into Lying For a living’s 2010
Sorry, it’s really hot here today – my brain is fried…..
