The Nightmare Thief: out today in the UK

The British edition of The Nightmare Thief is published in hardcover today. Thank you to everybody at Blue Door Books for turning out such a beautiful edition.

And yes, I am completely excited that Jo Beckett and Evan Delaney are both back on the street. In the British Isles today, and the rest of the planet soon.

  1. Sooooooooooo excited!

  2. Sooooooooo thwarted! However, I have holidays scheduled for the week of July 26th, when it will be available here. That was deliberate. Reading Camp is making a return this year.

    • Will there be flashlights for late night reading? And cookies? May I come? Please?

      • Yep. My back yard, starting 9 a.m., Monday, July 25. I’ll supply chairs, coffee, and cookies. BYOB (that’s books, of course).

  3. Amazon.UK said they shipped mine on Monday. I hope it doesn’t take two weeks like my last order.

    • Rich – I was also informed on Monday that my copy “has dispatched”. I’ve been lucky I guess; my Amazon.uk orders usually take 5-7 business days to reach me here near Chicago.

      • Well, Chicago, sure. Everyone knows where that is. But in Florida I think there is a rule that everything has to first navigate the Everglades. :>)

  4. Curious how my name appeared. Danan?

    • Probably a WordPress shortcut for Dan the Man.

    • Oh, and Dan, now that I’ve seen your Gravitar profile, I was hoping you could telepathically diagnose and repair the non-working heater/AC fan on my ’99 Cougar. It will probably help to let you know it’s the V6, since you’ve got little else to go on. Thanks in advance.

  5. Woohoo! Hopefully have my copy by the weekend.

  6. Rich – I just think they’re all afraid of the ‘gators. I heard they are as big as Buicks down there… 😉

  7. I am impressed that you readers are so dedicated, you are willing to read an edition not even published in your native tongue. Sadly, I will have to wait until it has been fully translated into American. Oh, and don’t anyone tell me what Meg decided to name the character named after me.

  8. By the way, Meg, since we know this book includes both Jo and Evan, how is it that the cover says, “A Jo Beckett Thriller?” Betcha Evan and Jo had a mighty battle over that one!

  9. Ron, the German editions of my novels say, on the title page, that they’re translated from the “Amerikanische”.

  10. My copy has arrived, I am grinning from ear to ear!
Thank you so much, Meg… this is such a biggie for me.
I’m that word that Dana Jean is always saying and I’m always forgetting. Verklem….something.

  11. Glad it got there, Flakes.

  12. While I won’t go so far as to typographically reproduce my glee with three rows of capital ‘e’s followed by another row of exclamation points, that was pretty much my reaction upon seeing a package from England on my front stoop. Thank you very, very much, Meg, for the book and particularly for the awesome dedication. It’s been a long week (already), and this just made my day. And now, I’m going to put it back in its package and set it on my desk, where it will continue to lurk as a quiet incentive to get this damned master’s thesis written and finished so that I can, without guilt, see what’s next for Evan and Jo. Many thanks!
