This week: Thrillerfest

This week I’m heading to New York City for Thrillerfest. This conference includes sessions on the craft of writing, opportunities for new writers to meet editors and agents, and panels designed to entertain readers with tales of the thriller-writer’s exciting life. It’s Vacation Bible School, except with cocktails and discussions on serial killers and okay, it’s not like Vacation Bible School whatsoever. Fun times!

My schedule:

Thursday, July 9
Practice PitchFest
12:15 pm – 1:45 pm
I’m joining with other authors and agents to help aspiring authors perfect their pitch. If you’re signed up for either Craftfest or Thrillerfest, you can attend the practice session and PitchFest later in the afternoon.

Friday, July 10
“HOW MANY CAN I MURDER? Deciding On Your Body Count”
2:00 pm – 2:50 pm
Book signing from 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm in the bookstore.

If you’re attending, please say hello. If you can’t attend but wonder how many people an author can legitimately murder in her novel, give me your opinion in the comments.

  1. I hope to meet you and get your autograph on a copy of Phantom Instinct at the book signing! I think I’m signing Friday at the same time.

  2. Fantastic, Laura — look forward to seeing you!

  3. If only you knew how many times I heard “It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again” in Vacation Bible School…
